Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao on Thursday dismissed the survey done by the NDTV projecting that YSR Congress party would win majority of seats in Andhra Pradesh, if elections are held now.
Talking to reporters here, Hanumantha Rao wondered as to how the NDTV could favour Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is facing serious charges of corruption. At one side, when the entire national media has been targeting the UPA Government over coal scam based on the findings of CAG report, the NDTV is openly supporting Jaganmohan Reddy while ignoring the cases of corruption against him.
Hanumantha Rao said that such surveys were not credible and their findings have proved wrong several times in the past. Further, he said it was difficult to make electoral predictions, especially at a time when the general elections are to be held after about 18 months.
He said that the NDTV's survey was aimed at creating sympathy for Jaganmohan Reddy, who is presently lodged in jail on the charges of corruption.
