Former minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Monday advised the Congress leaders to restrain themselves from leveling allegations against former chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
Talking to media persons at Assembly's media point, Dr Shankar Rao supported the statement of YSR Congress party honorary president Y Vijayamma wherein she said that the ministers who are now leveling allegations could not even look into the eyes of YSR if he would have been alive. It is unethical and immoral to target a person who is not alive, he said.
Dr Shankar Rao said that it was due to the heavy criticism against YSR and his family members, the Congress party has lost badly in the last by-elections and the YSR Congress party could increase its strength to 17 MLAs. Instead of learning lessons from the past, the Congress leaders are repeating the mistakes which would cost the party dearly in future, he said.
Regarding the death of infants in government hospitals, Dr Shankar Rao said that the State Government could not escape from its responsibility by giving clean chit to the doctors. He said that the death of infants was a blot on the Health Department and it would affect the image of the government and party in future.
