Founder president of Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samithi Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy on Wednesday demanded that all political parties, irrespective of affiliations, make their stand clear on the formation of Rayalaseema State.
Talking to media persons at Film Nagar Club at Jubilee Hills, he said that all parties including TDP and YSRCP have to write a letter to the Centre making their stand clear on the statehood issue immediately. Reiterating that he was opposed to the bifurcation of State, he said that the government has to trifurcate the State by forming coastal Andhra, Telangana and Rayalaseema if the division of State was imminent. He said that the Rayalaseema region would receive justice only through statehood.
Stating that Rayalaseema people were not ready to be cheated once again, Byreddy said that he has not raised this demand to scuttle the Telangana State formation. He accused a section of leaders for moving strategically to affect the interests of Rayalaseema region. Protesting against the leaders' attitude, Byreddy said that he would stage Maha Deeksha in Kurnool district from August 4-7.
Byreddy said that the four days Deeksha was aimed to create awareness among the people over the Rayalaseema demand and injustice being meted out to the region in the event of bifurcation of State. He warned of serious consequences if anyone tries to foil the Deeksha.
Byreddy said that he was ready to submit his resignation from the TDP and MLA's post over the cause of Rayalaseema State demand.
