Govt Whip justifies Konda Murali's disqualification

Justifying the Congress Party’s decision to disqualify Konda Murali from the Legislative Council on the charges of anti-party activities, Government whip E Anil on Tuesday came down heavily on him for making serious anti-party remarks.

Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office, Anil said that the party disqualified Konda Murali from the council for his repeated indulgence in anti-party activities. He dismissed the comments of Konda Murali that Backward Classes were being suppressed in the Congress Party. He also refuted his statement that he won with his own charisma in the MLC elections and not due to the support of Congress Party.

Stating that the Congress Party gave re-birth to his political life, he said that the party also supported his wife Konda Surekha by giving Congress ticket from Parakala Assembly constituency in 2009 elections. He recalled that former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy also gave birth to Konda Surekha in his cabinet.

Despite the Congress Party nurturing their political career, he said that the couple have acted against the party and indulged in anti-party works by supporting YSR Congress Party. He said that they have no moral right to talk against the party.

Council whip Rudraraju Padma Raju was also present in the press conference.
