Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday left for the accident site near Nellore Railway Station along with the DGP and other officials. After visit to the accident spot and discussions with the Railway officials, district collector etc. he will also visit the Jai Bharath Hospital, Bollineni Hospital and Government Hospital. He will talk to the injured and console the kin of the deceased.

The Chief Minister said "the ghastly fire accident that occurred in the Tamil Chennai-bound Tamil Nadu Express from Delhi, near the Nellore Railway Station is shocking and very unfortunate. My heart-felt condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased".

Earlier, the Chief Minister directed the Nellore Collector Sridhar, Police Superintendent and other officials to rush immediately to the site and take all rescue and relief operations on war footing in co-ordination with the Railway Officials.

The Chief Minister asked Chief Secretary Smt Minnie Mathew to closely monitor the relief operations on a minute-to-minute basis. He asked the officials to press additional medical teams, specialist doctors into service, to rush the injured to nearby hospitals and instructed them to extend the best medical treatment immediately. He also wanted the officials to take the services of emergency Ambulances, 108, 104 services.

Kiran Kumar Reddy also spoke to the local MLAs and other people's representatives and wanted them to rush to the accident site to help the victims immediately. Accordingly, the District Administration including District Collector, SP, Medical, Fire Officials with rescue and additional doctors teams immediately rushed to the site and initiated all rescue and relief operations.
