Former Congress minister R Damodar Reddy on Thursday said that there was an urgent need to refurbish the image of both the Congress party and the State Government.
Talking to media persons at Assembly premises over the Dharmana Committee recommendations, Damodar Reddy said that the party has to take drastic measures to get back the past image, which touched lowest ebb after the recently held by-election. He said that the government has to implement all recommendations of Dharmana Committee in letter and spirit to boost the party rank and file and strengthen the party at the ground level.
Damodar Reddy took serious note on committee for not including the suggestion given by seniors that those who have completed five years stint as minister in the government should voluntarily quit their post and work to strengthen the party at the ground level. He said that the Telangana statehood demand would not be diluted with offering of the Chief Minister’s post to Telangana people.
