The Telugu Desam Party on Tuesday decided to conduct the Mahanadu, party's annual conclave, in May-2013.
The massive meeting convened under the party president N Chandrababu Naidu at NTR Trust Bhavan has decided to cancel the Mahanadu scheduled to be held this year and decided to convene it in next year in the month of May. Earlier, the Telugu Desam politburo has decided to postpone the ‘Mahanadu’, scheduled from May 27 to 29, till the by-elections were over. The decision was taken in view of party leaders’ pre-occupation with the by-elections for 18 Assembly segments and one Lok Sabha seat.
Tuesday's meeting also focused its attention on rejuvenating the party for 2014 general elections. As part of revamping the party, it has been decided to conduct organisational elections for gram and ward committees from July 20-30. The elections for mandal committees would be held from August 5-20 and the district committees from August 20-30.
All committees and wings in the party would be strengthened from ground level to top and they would be geared up for 2014 general elections.
