The High Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing on bail petition of Ysr Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was accused in disproportionate case, to July 4.
After hearing the arguments of Jagan’s counsel Ram Jethmalani and counter arguments of CBI counsel Ashok Bhan for second day, High Court Judge Justice Samudrala Govindarajulu posted the petition for further hearing to July 4.
While arguing in favour of bail for Jagan, Ram Jethmalani took serious note on CBI for resorting to arrest his client after issuing summons and asked the court to initiate action against CBI under contempt of court.
Jethmalani said that the CBI arrested Jagan following pressure mounted on it by a section of political leaders.
Meanwhile, CBI counsel Ashok Bhan described disproportionate assets case as serious economic offence and thousands of crores of public money grossly misused.
After hearing of arguments, Justice Samudrala Govindarajulu posted the petition for hearing to July 4.
