BJP state president G Kishen Reddy on Tuesday demanded the all parties to make their stand clear on Telangana statehood issue to put an end to uncertainty in the State.
Addressing the district president and office-bearers meeting at party office, Nampally, Kishen Reddy appealed to the Centre to take steps for bifurcating the state by moving a bill on Telangana in the parliament and restore the peace and harmony in the State.
In the recent held by-elections, he said that the people of state out rightly rejected the ruling Congress and opposition Telugu Desam and gave clear mandate to the YSR Congress. He said that the people lost confidence on Congress and TDP as they failed to work up to expectations.
Apart from this, he said that the ruling congress party miserably failed to check skyrocketing prices of essential commodities and totally failed on all fronts including farmers’ issues. He said that the BJP has good chances to regain confidence of people in the state if party cadre made efforts in that direction.
As part of strengthening BJP, he appealed to party rank and file to launch membership drive by giving top priority for girijans, Dalits, youth, backward class and women.
He expressed confidence that the party would be strengthened at all levels before the local body and cooperative elections.
