Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday clarified that he did not travel with former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, who was killed in chopper crash in 2009, on that fateful day as he was busy with Public Accounts Committee meeting in the Assembly.

Addressing a road show at Sundupalli in Kadapa district, Kiran Kumar Reddy refuted Ysr Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila's allegations that he was aware that the helicopter would crash. Condemning the allegations he said that Sharmila was trying to politicise Ysr's death to get mileage in the by-elections. He said if he would have known about the possible crash, he would have saved Ysr at the cost of his own life.

Kiran Kumar Reddy also took serious note on Ysr Congress leaders for claiming that they sacrificed their posts for farmers' cause by voting in favour of No Confidence Motion against the government. He said that Ysr Congress leaders sacrificed their posts to get financial package announced by Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The Chief Minister called upon the people to vote against corruption and support the welfare scheme and development works taken up by the government.
