Shankar Rao dismisses TDP's allegations against Azad

Former Congress minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Wednesday dismissed the Telugu Desam Party's demand for a probe against Congress in-charge of state affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad and former AP incharge M Veerappa Moily for supporting YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy in accumulating alleged illegal wealth.

Talking to media persons in the Legislative Assembly premises, Dr Shankar Rao took serious note on TDP Legislative Council leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao's allegations that Ghulam Nabi Azad and Veerappa Moily received kickbacks to favour Jagan during YSR's regime. He said the allegations were baseless and far from truth.

Dr Shankar Rao demanded that the State Government order a CBI probe into the land allotments made since the tenure of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu as the chief minister till date as thousands of acres of land have been misused and allotted illegally to companies floated by Jagan on quid pro quo basis. He said that the CBI probe into the land allotments would expose all illegal deals.

He demanded that the government cancel all the land allotments which were made in violation of the rules and regulations and recover the lands from the companies. He said that the government should act impartially and in a transparent manner in this regard.
