Rajahmundry MP Undavalli Arun Kumar on Wednesday accused YSR Congress honorary president Y S Vijayamma of misleading the electorate by claiming that her son and Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy's arrest by the CBI as illegal to gain sympathy in the bye-elections.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office premises, Undavalli also dismissed the allegations leveled by Vijayamma that the Congress party hatched a conspiracy to arrest Jagan fearing defeat in the by-elections. Stating that there was no need for the Congress party to resort to such cheap gimmicks, he said that Jagan himself claimed that he does not need any interim bail from the court.
The Rajahmundry MP also wondered about Vijayamma raising doubts over the demise of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy after three years. He said that Vijayamma was raising YSR’s death issue in order to get political mileage in the ensuing by-elections. He asked as to why Jaganmohan Reddy did not raise the issue in the Parliament.
Stating that the government was ready to order any kind of probe, he asked Vijayamma to provide substantial evidence in this regard. If she fails to provide clear clues over the death of YSR, he said that it would send wrong signals among the people.
