GHMC elections on Nov 12

The  State  Election  Commission (SEC) has issued  a  notification on the Greater Hyderabad  Municipal  Corporation elections here  on  Monday. According  to the  notification, the long awaited  elections  would now  be held  on November  12. Releasing  the details of   elections,   the  SEC   stated  that   the  candidates  can  file their nominations from  October  21. The  last  date for receiving the nominations  is   October  27.   The SEC will scrutinize the  nominations  on  October  28. The  last  date  for  withdrawal of nomination has  been  slated  till October  31.
 
The  counting will take  place  on October  14  and on the same  day  the  results will be  declared.The   elections will be held in the  24 Assembly constituencies in the jurisdiction of  Ghmc.According  to  the Ghmc  sources 28 centres have been identified as counting centres and 40,000 polling personnels’ data base is ready to be drafted for elections. Seven hundred  and  eighteen  senior officers will be appointed as Zonal officers, besides another 700 officers who would be drafted  as micro observers for the smooth conduct of elections.
