Telugu Desam Legislative Council floor leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao on Wednesday alleged that the ruling Congress party was trying to malign the image of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu during by-elections campaign.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao said that since the Congress party enjoys third position after YSR Congress party in the popularity graph in the by-polls, its leaders have been targeting Naidu to draw public attention. However, he said the people would never believe the political gimmicks of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana in the by-election campaigns.
Veerabhadra Rao said that both Kiran Kumar Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana have lost the confidence of people. He said unlike the Congress party, Naidu has honoured all the promises that he made to people in his election manifestoes. He said the Congress leaders have been leveling baseless allegations the TDP leaders only to divert public attention from the ruling party's failure to honour the promises that were made.
The TDP leader alleged that while the Chief Minister has lost confidence of his Cabinet colleagues, Botsa has been suffering from inferiority complex as he no following in districts other than Srikakulam.
Veerabhadar Rao asked as to why the government did not give permission to probe into IAS officers' role in the illegal assets case against YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy. Further, the government has not made public the GOs issued by the ministers which would have exposed their role in corruption by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
