I am not against the relief operations: Chiru

Hyderabad,Oct 14: The actor-turned-politician and Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi on Wednesday made it clear that he was not against the relief operations taken up by the government or any other voluntary organization for flood victims.Talking to media persons,he said that he would extend his wholehearted cooperation for any relief and rehabilitation work taken up by the Movie Artists Association for the flood victims.In the wake of criticism by Movie Artists Association members accusing him of not attending the association meeting convened on Wednesday,Chiru said that he was already engaged in relief and rehabilitation works in flood affected areas.As he was busy with flood relief works in the districts,he could not turn up for the meeting convened by Movie Artists Association,he claimed.

He termed the criticism by some artists against him as unfortunate and unwarranted. “It is not proper to make allegations like this when I am busy with relief and rehabilitation works in flood-hit areas,” Chiranjeevi lamented.He said that Dadasaheb Phalke awardee Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Super star Krishna’s family members also did not turn up for the meeting.Does it mean that they are against the relief operations,he questioned.
