TDP opposes privatisation of RTC properties

Telugu Desam Party MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Wednesday opposed the privatisation of Rtc properties and lands in rural areas for mobilizing additional resources.

Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, he criticized Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana for making efforts to hand over the Rtc lands at Podili village in Markapuram mandal in Ongole Town through tenders to Pratyusha Company owned by Minister for Ports Ganta Srinivasa Rao. He asked the Transport Minister to utilize the vacant land for development of Rtc instead of handing it over to private firms in the name of commercialization.

Stating that Rtc employees were also opposed to privatization of properties, he accused the Transport Minister of causing huge losses to the Rtc by adopting wrong policies. He warned the government that the TDP would intensify its agitation against privatization of Rtc properties if it did not revoke its decision.
