Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday expressed confidence that his party's symbol 'cycle' would ride to victory in the by-elections on the lines of the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Talking to media persons at Renigunta Airport in Tirupati before proceeding to Kovvur Assembly constituency for the election campaign, Naidu said that 'cycle' would sweep the ensuing by-elections and upcoming 2014 elections in the state.
The TDP chief said that the Congress party was defeated in the elections in five states mainly due to its involvement in corruption and scams. He said that the next elections would teach a fitting lesson to the Congress party and its general secretary Rahul Gandhi. He said that the results of recent elections prove that Rahul Gandhi lacks political strategy and exposes his failure to attract the voters.
Regarding by-elections in Kovvur Assembly segment, he described the contest as fight between corruption and conviction.
Later, participating in the election campaign at JJ Peta in Indukuru mandal in Nellore district, Naidu appealed to voters to exercise their franchise in favour of Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy due to his clean image.
