Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday sought apology for his total failure to address their grievances in the House.
Talking to media persons at Telugu Desam Legislature Party Office, Naidu expressed dissatisfaction over the government and Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar for not permitting him to take up discussion on people’s problems in the House. “Though out party pressed for discussion on public issue, the government was afraid for holding discussions and diverted the attention of House," he said. He alleged that being unable to control the ruling party MLAs the Speaker has resorted to frequent adjournment of the House.
"As the Speaker has been postponing the House repeatedly, I am unable to raise people’s problems and feeling of guilty and ashamed," Naidu said.
Stating that small scale industries were facing severe problems due to power woes, Naidu condemned the Speaker for adjourning the House abruptly whenever he pressed for discussion on it. He asked the government to explain how it would solve their problems. Stating that nearly 20 lakh people have lost employment due to power problems in small scale industries, he asked the government to explain how it would provide job security to them.
Responding to the outcome of election results, Naidu said that the regional parties would play a major role in near future. He said that the elections indicate that the people have out rightly rejected national parties. Terming the present election results as 'semi-finals’, he said that the people would give a similar verdict in 'finals' in 2014 elections.
