Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana has found a silver lining in the cloud with regard to the results of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Botsa said that party's number of seats in Uttar Pradesh assembly has increased compared to 2007 elections. He said the increase in seats was primarily due to the campaign of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi.
Botsa ridiculed the claim of N Chandrababu Naidu that the Telugu Desam Party would do a repeat of Samajwadi Party in Andhra Pradesh during next elections. He said that the Congress party would increase its tally in the next elections.
Regarding by-elections, the PCC chief said that the TDP would not be able to win more than four seats out of 24 constituencies where by-elections would be held. He said that the Congress leaders would launch a focused campaign to ensure party's victory.
