Telugu Desam Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Wednesday disputed Governor E S L Narasimhan's statement that he was not showing partiality towards Telangana region.
Talking to media persons at Assembly's Media Point, Errabelli Dayakar Rao asked the Governor as to why he had sent a false report on the situation in the Telangana to the Centre if he was not partial on any region. Describing Governor as `Betrayer of Telangana’, he said that the Centre did not announce its decision on Telangana due to Governor’s false report in the region.
Holding the Governor directly responsible for the Centre not taking any favourable decision on the formation of separate Telangana state, he said that more than 700 people committed suicides due to false reports. He asked Narasimhan to send a report favouring formation of separate Telangana State to the Centre if he was not showing any partiality towards the region.
Errabelli advised Governor to send a report to the Centre withdrawing Central paramilitary forces from the region to prove his sincerity. He also asked him to take steps for withdrawing police cases booked against those who participated in the statehood agitation by mounting pressure on the State Government.
The Tdp leader also demanded that the government pay compensation to the family members of those who committed suicide for the statehood cause. He said that the government should also fulfill its promises given to Telangana employees who took part in the general strike.
