Handlooms and Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao on Thursday stated that he would work to resolve the problems being faced by the poor, irrespective of whether he remains in power or not.
Talking to media persons after participating as chief guest in Swamy Vivekananda's 150th Jayanthi celebrations being organized under the aegis of Sahakar and Bangla Telugu Association at Basheerbagh Press Club, Shankar Rao stated that the Minister's posts are not permanent. “Whether post is there or not, I will continue my fight for addressing problems of the poor and downtrodden and stay in their hearts permanently,” he pointed out.
“Now onwards I will be available for people round-the-clock. Even if they make a phone call seeking my help, I will go there and fight for their cause,” he stated. He recalled constitutional architect Dr B R Ambedkar for writing the constitution in a way which provides speedy justice to the needy people.
“The credit for providing speedy justice to common man goes to Dr Ambedkar. Because of provisions in the law, the courts are taking cases Suo Motu and issuing directions to the concerned respondents immediately as part of providing speedy justice,” he stated.
