No explanations, only elections says Pilli

Former minister and Ramchandrapuram MLA Pilli Subhash Chandrabose on Monday announced that he would not reply to the show cause notice served by Speaker Nadendla Manohar with regard to his disqualification petition submitted by the Congress party for violating the party whip during the No Confidence Motion.

Chandrabose told INN that the MLAs, associated with the YSR Congress party, have openly defied the party whip as the State Government has miserably failed to help the distressed farmers. He said that the MLAs have voted in favour of the No Confidence in full public view and in front of the Speaker. Therefore, no explanation was required to be given on the issue, he said.

"Our explanation would send wrong signals among the people. Therefore, we will directly go for elections, instead of explanations," Chandrabose said.

Another rebel MLA Balaneni Srinivas Reddy of Ongole in Prakasam district said he would react after receiving the copy of the Speaker's notice.
