Errabelli doubts KCR's commitment on Telangana

Telugu Desam Telangana Forum convenor Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Friday asked the Telangana Rashtra Samithi to prove its commitment towards the statehood cause.

Talking to reporters at Assembly's Media Point, Errabelli alleged that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao have exploited the Telangana agitation for the benefit of his family members. He said the TRS MLAs were never serious about getting statehood for Telangana and enacted 'dramas' at various times to draw people's attention.

Errabelli also questioned the seriousness with which the TRS MLAs resigned for the cause of statehood. He said the MLAs have just faxed their resignation knowing well that they would be rejected if not submitted in proper format. He also alleged that the Congress and TRS were hand-in-glove to delay the decision on Telangana state.

Citing an example, the Tdp MLA said that the government did not arrest TRS MLA T Harish Rao, who attacked a Scheduled Caste officer in AP Bhavan in New Delhi. On the other side, Cheruku Sudhakar, a leader from Backward Classes, was booked under the Preventive Detention Act just for stopping a bus. He said both the Congress and TRS have been exploiting the sentiments of the people in the region.

Errabelli appealed to all political parties to make collective efforts to mount pressure on the Centre to introduce the Telangana Bill during the winter session of Parliament. He said that the MLAs from the region, across party lines, should prove their commitment for Telangana by making joint efforts.
