Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath on Thursday took serious objection over the Telugu Desam Party obstructing the condolence motion meant to pay tributes to Mahbubnagar MLA N Rajeshwar Reddy on the first day of assembly session.

Talking to media persons at Assembly's Media Point, Sailajanath alleged that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was not respecting the traditions and have been violating the rules and regulations of House by not allowing the condolence motion.  "It is unfortunate that Naidu obstructed the condolence motion to facilitate discussion on No Confidence Motion. This exposed his hunger for power," he said adding that  the state government was ready to face any motion in the House.

Law Minister Erasu Prathap Reddy described the TDP chief’s behaviour in the House as "unfortunate’ and 'unconstitutional'. Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathy termed the obstruction of the condolence motion as the `Black Day’ in the history of State Assembly.

Meanwhile, TDP whip Dhulipala Narendra said that the party has introduced No Confidence Motion due to pathetic condition of farmers in the State. He said the party MLAs were pressing for the No Confidence Motion as they fear that the Speaker might not allow the discussion in the brief five-day session. He clarified that the party had no intention to obstruct the condolence motion. "We just want a reply from Speaker Nadendla Manohar that he has was in receipt of No Confidence Motion notice from the TDP," he stated.

TRS Floor Leader Etela Rajender demanded Telangana resolution on the lines of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawathi moving a resolution over the division of state into four parts. He warned that the TRS would not allow the House to function until it passes resolution on Telangana and lifting of Preventive Detention Act case against TRS politburo member Cheruku Sudhakar. The TRS would also press for statement on fee reimbursement and scholarships issue of students, he said.

Telangana Congress MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy demanded that all parties support the introduction Telangana resolution in the Assembly session.

CPI Floor leader G Mallesh demanded that the assembly take up discussion on land allotments of Emaar and APIIC and mining permits to the OMC. He also demanded a resolution on the Telangana state in the House.
