Malkajgiri Congress MP Sarvey Satyanarayana stated that the Congress would not opt for second States Reorganization Commission to decide formation of Telangana state.

Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party office, Sarvey Satyanarayana denied the reports in a section of media that the Congress would link formation of Telangana state with the second SRC. “Don’t link the Telangana state issue with second SRC,” he stated and called upon the people of the region not to worry over the SRC. He said the subject of SRC came into discussion following the proposed move by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati to move a resolution in the Assembly over division of Uttar Pradesh state into four states.

“Even if the government opts to appoint second SRC it has to get prior approval in Parliament. At that point of time, the Telangana leaders will oppose it,” he stated. He warned the government that the Telangana leaders would stall the winter session of Parliament and Assembly if the Telangana issue is referred to the SRC. “Until the government makes a clear announcement on the Telangana state in parliament, the leaders from the region would stall the sessions,” he stated.

Satyanarayana also slammed some activists who are participating in statehood agitations. He alleged some activists were not genuine and they were being hired by the politicians on daily wages to raise 'Jai Telangana' slogans. "They get a packet of biryani and liquor in the evening for participating in such staged-managed agitations," he said adding such agitations would not lead to the formation of separate Telangana.
