Don't link Telangana with SRC: Komatireddy

Former Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who underwent hunger fast for 9 days for the cause of separate Telangana statehood, on Thursday stated that the high command should announce decision on Telangana state without going for financial packages or the second States Reorganisation Commission.

Talking to media persons before his discharge from Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Komatireddy said that the high command should consider Telangana issue separately and should not link with second SRC. He said that the Telangana leaders would not agree for the financial package with Regional councils and the second SRC.

The former minister expressed confidence that the Centre would take a favourable decision over the bifurcation of state and respect the sentiments of Telangana people. He expressed regrets for Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy not enquiring about his health condition during the hunger fast period. “This exposes how the Chief Minister ill treats his Cabinet colleagues, people’s representatives and the Telangana agitation,” he stated.
