Telangana Congress Steering Committee chairman K Keshav Rao on Wednesday stated that former minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy called off nine-day long hunger fast believing the statement made by Congress in-charge of state affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad in New Delhi that key decision on Telangana will be taken after November 10.
Talking to media persons at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, after Komatireddy called off the fast, Keshav Rao said that all Congress MPs and MLAs convinced Komatireddy assuring that the party High Command would announce a decision on Telangana after November 10. He said that the Telangana Congress leaders would take decision on future course after the announcement of November 10.
When reporters asked Keshav Rao how Komatireddy withdraw fast without any clear announcement on Telangana, he shot back stating that, "you are insulting Telangana leaders by raising such irrelevant questions."
MP Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy said that his brother Venkat Reddy called off fast following clear signs received from high command and pressure mounted on him by MPs, MLAs and TPJAC leaders. If the high command makes any announcement unfavourably, he said that the Telangana leaders would quit their posts and launch agitation for statehood.
