Former Infrastructure and Investment Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday stated that he would observe indefinite hunger fast from November 1 as part of continuing his agitation for separate Telangana state.
Talking to media persons after participating as chief guest in Dhum Dham programme being organized under the aegis of Telangana employees at Telangana Chowk, Komatireddy said that he would sit-in for hunger fast with one lakh supporters from November 1 to fulfil his promise made to the people after his resignation from the Cabinet. He said that he was ready to sacrifice anything for the cause of statehood.
The former minister threatened that he would commit suicide if anyone tries to foil his indefinite hunger fast.
Accusing the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of taking revenge on Telangana leaders, he said that the Chief Minister would be held responsible if anything happens to him. He slammed the ministers and elected representatives from region for not submitting their resignations despite the death of 600 people for the cause of separate statehood.
Komatireddy also accused the Chief Minister of sending misleading reports to the Centre on the ongoing indefinite general strike and for making efforts to dilute the agitation.
