The former PCC president said inciting regional feelings would cause damage to the interests of all regions. Therefore, an amicable solution should be worked out through negotiations. Referring to the Sakala Janula Samme, the general strike which entered 37th day on Wednesday, he said that any agitation which goes against the public interest fails. Therefore, agitations should be taken up keeping in view the interest of the general public.

Rajya Sabha MPs K Keshava Rao and MA Khan, AICC Secretary P Sudhakar Reddy and other senior Congress leaders spoke on the occasion. They reminded that on the same day in 1990 former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi started first Sadbhavana Yatra from the same location at Charminar. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana were also scheduled to attend the meeting. However, due to other engagements both skipped the event.
