Naidu demands sops for Polavaram displaced families

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday stated that his party was committed to completion of the Polavaram irrigation project.

Addressing the Polavaram displaced persons at Tadepalligudem, Naidu alleged that the Congress Government was not properly responding to the problems of the families of displaced due to Polavaram project and failed to initiate proper rehabilitation measures.

Naidu, who is touring the West Godavari district for three days, also made an aerial survey of the Polavaram project site to collect the first hand information. He said that the TDP will relentlessly fight for the cause of the displaced population of the Polavaram project.

Earlier, the displaced victims complained to the TDP president that the State Government had provided them barren land and that they were not given proper compensation for the palm trees that were lost due to construction of the project.
