Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki on Wednesday stated that there was nothing new in the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's latest statement on Telangana.
Talking to media persons at his residence, Madhu Yashki said that Pranab Mukherjee repeated the same statement once again. “There is nothing to worry on Pranab Mukherjee's comments and raise hue and cry on the issue,” he stated. However, he said the leaders should not link the Telangana issue with other statehood demands.
Stating that Congress party was actively trying to find a solution to Telangana, he said the UPA allies should also act responsibly to resolve the issue. He hoped that the Core committee would meet after Dasara festival and find a solution to the issue.
Yashki said that even the Seemandhra elected representatives who threatened with resignations in the event of formation of Telangana in 2009, are ready to abide by the high command decision on Telangana this time. He warned the government of serious consequences if it fails to announce a favourable decision on Telangana state.
The Nizamabad MP asked Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to handle the situation in Telangana smoothly and efficiently instead of adopting coercive and provocative methods.
He thanked Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for allotting 1000 mw additional power to save the standing crops of farmers in the crucial juncture.
