Infrastructure Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy clarified that he would stay with the Congress party despite his resignation from the State cabinet and to MLA's post.

In a letter written to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Komatireddy accused the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of sending wrong reports on the Telangana agitation. "The reports that are being sent to New Delhi by the vested interests against Telangana State are completely falsified and the statistics are fabricated," he said. "All the government services including the public transportation systems have come to a grinding halt. The schools and colleges were closed and the private business is hurting, he said while explaining the situation.

"The brand image of Hyderabad as IT hub has been badly affected as no new companies are planning to move their operations here and the existing one are moving out of the State. The atmosphere in the towns and villages is even more volatile - the Telangana ministers and MLAs and Congress party cadre are unable to visit their constituencies and are simply labelled as 'Traitors' and a great feeling of betrayal has taken over," Komatireddy explained. The State Government has completely failed in all aspects to engage and morally became bankrupt due to incompetence and indifference show in handling the crisis, he alleged.

"There has been a systematic distortion of facts, systematic manipulation of Telangana people's opinion by a handful of vested interests who unfortunately succeeded in changing the announcement made on your birthday by Government of India on December 9, 2009," Komatireddy told Sonia Gandhi and asked her to announce the statehood for Telangana to 'correct all the wrongs that were done to the Telangana region'.
