Former Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Friday stated that the people of region would not agree for any other decision of Congress high command except separate Telangana state.

Talking to media persons, former Pcc Chief appealed to high command to stand by to the announcement of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram made on December 9, 2009 and honour the promise.

Responding to Congress in-charge of state affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad submitting his report on consultations on Telangana issue to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he expressed confidence that Sonia Gandhi would take a favourable decision on statehood.

Before the situation going out of control in the region, he said that the high command should announce its decision on the controversial statehood issue putting an end to the uncertainty. He also appealed to state government to pay salaries to striking employees in the region considering the festival season. He also urged state government not to use coercive methods on employees as it would provoke them.
