Home Minister P Sabita Indira Reddy on Thursday called upon the Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan to clarify on the allegations of corruption levelled against her by Textiles Minister Dr P Shankar Rao.
Sabita reportedly told the Governor that Dr Shankar Rao's allegations were far from truth. She is believed to have submitted documents relating to postings and transfers of police officials in the State and claimed that everything was carried out in a transparent manner.
It may be mentioned that following Dr Shankar Rao's allegations, the State High Court has recommended that the State Government order a CBI probe against Sabita Indira Reddy and Excise Minister M Venkataramana Rao. Since then, Sabita Reddy has been maintaining a low profile and she even abstained from the meeting held on Wednesday to review law and order situation in the State.
Earlier in the day, Dr Shankar Rao met the Governor and submitted some documents along with a memorandum as a proof of his allegations.
