A day after firing salvo against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the Handlooms and Textiles Minister Dr P Shankar Rao found a new target on Monday.
Addressing a press conference, Dr Shankar Rao alleged that Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy was involved in corruption at a large-scale. He accused the Home Minister of taking bribe to execute official works. He alleged that Sabitha's corruption network was being operated by her relatives including her son and brother.
The Minister claimed that he had enough evidences that Sabitha Reddy took money to give postings of choice to police officials in Hyderabad and elsewhere. He said had already brought the matter to the notice of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, but that latter took no action in this regard. A detailed letter has already been sent to the Central Bureau of Investigation seeking enquiry, he said.
The minister alleged that the corruption was rampant in the home, revenue and excise departments of the State Government. He said if the State Government fails to take action against Sabitha Reddy and do not take measures to prevent corruption in other departments, he would launch a massive agitation from October 2. He warned that the Congress party would be wiped off if it continues to ignore the issue of corruption.
Dr Shankar Rao said he was ready to resign from his post to launch agitation against the corruption in the State Government departments at various levels.
