Pradesh Congress President Botsa Satyanarayana on Monday appealed to the Telangana leaders to call off the proposed general strike from September 13.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa said that the general strike would cause lot of inconvenience to the common man. He said that both the Central and State Governments were trying to resolve the issue and the deliberations have already started in New Delhi. Keeping in view the inconvenience that the general strike would cause to the public, the Telangana leaders must withdraw the call.
Botsa accused YSR Congress party president and Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy of using unparliamentarily language against Congress leaders. He said Jagan was a Member of Parliament and he must have control over his words. He was referring to a recent statement made by Jagan Mohan Reddy wherein he asked whether the Congress leaders were eating grass.
Botsa also informed that the public meeting in at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam proposed to be held on September 18th has been postponed to September 25th. He said Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah was being felicitated in Visakhapatnam on September 16th and the next day senior Congress leaders were busy with the birthday celebrations of K Subbarami Reddy. Since most leaders felt that their participation in September 18th meeting would not be possible, it has been postponed.
