The main opposition Telugu Desam Party would introduce a no confidence motion against the government if Speaker Nadendla Manohar accepts the resignation of pro-Jagan Congress MLAs.
Talking to reporters at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Monday, senior TDP leader Revanth Reddy said N Kiran Kumar Reddy has no moral right to continue as Chief Minister as his government has fell into a minority. "The chief minister has no majority or mandate. Therefore, he must resign immediately," he said. He appealed to the Governor E S L Narasimhan to direct the Chief Minister to prove his majority in the House.
He said that while the entire country is supporting the battle against corruption started by Anna Hazare, how could the Congress MLAs rally behind YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is facing CBI investigation for amassing wealth illegally. He alleged that the Congress MLAs were influenced by money power offered by Jaganmohan Reddy and submitted their resignations. “It is shameful and unfortunate for the elected members to sell themselves for money," he stated.
Revanth Reddy said that 21 cases were pending against former chief minister YSR and if he was alive, YSR would have been the prime accused in the corruption case. Stating that Jaganmohan Reddy has no moral right to talk on value-based politics, he alleged that entire YSR family members were involved in various scams since they joined politics. He appealed to people to boycott the Congress MLAs who supported "corrupt Jaganmohan Reddy" and teach them a fitting lesson.
