Former Congress minister J C Diwakar Reddy denied allegations that the ongoing CBI probe against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was politically motivated and the Congress party was resorting to political vendetta.
Talking to media persons at Assembly premises here on Thursday, J C Diwakar Reddy said that there was no need for the Congress to take political revenge on YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy or target the former chief minister’s family members.
Stating that though the Congress had powers to probe into Jagan’s illegal assets, he said the government not resorted to such step respecting the YSR family. He also denied the reports appeared in a section of media that Handlooms and Textile Minister P Shankar Rao filed petition against Jagan on behalf of the Congress party. He said that P Shankar Rao filed petition in his personal capacity and Congress has no role in it.
Responding to allegations that the Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s political advisor Ahmed Patel was involved in former chief minister YSR’s corruption, he said the CBI would conduct raids on his house if it found any incriminating documents against him. He advised Jagan to cooperate with CBI probe and come clean from corruption allegations.
Responding to MLC K R Amos filing petition against Congress president Sonia Gandhi on her alleged involvement in corruption in the state, he termed it as `unfortunate.’
