Cases against Jagan as he failed to settle deal with Cong: TDP MLA

Telugu Desam MLA from Srikalahasti, Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy on Thursday alleged that the state government has foisted cases on YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy since it has failed to arrive ‘at a settlement’ with him.

“If the state government manages to settle the ‘deal’ with Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, the Congress will withdraw the cases against him, Mr Gopalakrishna Reddy told media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan on Thursday.

He alleged that the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government and state government have been shielding the guilty despite their being involvement in corruption. “Only those who do not strike a deal with the Congress are targeted,” the MLA said, in reaction to the High Court directing the Central Bureau of Investigation to probe into Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s wealth and business dealings.

Stating the government has no commitment towards people’s problems, he said that the TDP would continue its relentless fight against Congress and corruption during its tenure.

Another MLA R Sudish Rambhatla hailed the High Court ordering the probe against the YSR Congress Party chief as `historic’.

Mr Rambhatla also advised Mr Jaganmohan Reddy to turn approver so that he escapes with a lenient punishment.

The MLA further appealed to Central Bureau of Investigation to probe into alleged kickbacks received by Congress High Command from the state leaders.
