Nagam lodges 'man missing' complaint, urges police to trace Speaker

Stating that Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar’s whereabouts were unknown since July 222, rebel Telugu Desam Party Nagam leader Janardhan Reddy on Monday lodged a ‘Man Missing’ complaint with the Saifabad police, urging the police to trace him.

Talking to media persons at Saifabad police station along with TDP MLA from Parigi Harishwar Reddy, Mr Janardhan Reddy said that he has lodged the complaint after Mr Manohar’s office too failed to provide information about his whereabouts.

“After rejecting the resignations of Telangana MLAs outright, the Speaker went to London to attend Commonwealth Speakers’ Conference. As per the schedule, Mr Manohar was to return to the state capital on August 2 after the conclusion of Commonwealth Speakers conference on July 28,” Mr Janardhan Reddy pointed out.

“However, the Speaker has not turned up at his office and his office staff are not properly responding to questions on his likely return,” he added.

Mr Janardhan Reddy further said that the Speaker was not responding to even mails.

The rebel TDP leader revealed that, “after waiting for him with increasing anxiety so that we can submit our resignations afresh, we have lodged a police complaint seeking his whereabouts.”

Mr Janardhan Reddy further stated that would move a Privilege Motion against the police department for violating their rights by not allowing media persons inside the police station.

Earlier, Mr Janardhan Reddy and Mr Harishwar Reddy staged a dharna on the Assembly premises protesting against the Speaker Office staff’s indifferent attitude and their indifference to their queries.
