All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi has written a letter to Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi inviting him to come to New Delhi to complete the long pending merger process. Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point on Tuesday, senior party leader and MLC C Ramachandraiah disclosed that the party had received a letter from Ms Sonia Gandhi inviting party chief K Chiranjeevi to come New Delhi between August 7-10.
According to Ms Sonia Gandhi’s letter, Mr Chiranjeevi has to go New Delhi between August 7 and 10 to complete the merger process. He will interact with Congress In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad during his New Delhi visit.
After the completion of formal talks, Mr Chiranjeevi would officially merge his party and take the membership of Congress at AICC office in New Delhi. The MLAs from the PRP party will officially join the Congress at Gandhi Bhavan in the state after the return of Mr Chiranjeevi from New Delhi.
Responding on the organising of massive public meeting to mark the merger, Mr Ramachandraiah said the Congress has directed the PRP to organise the conference on a low key considering the prevailing situation in the state.
