The Telugu Desam Party has strongly opposed the Lok Pal Bill drafted by the Government and criticised the Centre for introducing it in the ensuing monsoon session of parliament without inclusion of Prime Minister’s office and judiciary.
Talking to media on Friday at NTR trust bhavan the TDP supremo N Chandra Babu Naidu said,“The present form of bill does not serve any purpose and will not prevent corruption in higher echelons.” He alleged that the bill was made in favour of government and it will help in shielding corrupt officers.
Naidu opined that government wants to bring the probing agencies under its control but the TDP would oppose the Lokpal bill in the parliament with the support of like-minded parties.
He said the TDP parliamentary party would meet on Saturday to discuss future course and take a decision on loopholes in the bill.
