Minister for Handlooms and Textiles P Shankar Rao claimed that he had filed petition in the High Court against YSR party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy as a `common citizen’ to prevent corruption in the state.
Speaking to media persons on Friday he condemned the allegations of Jaganmohan Reddy that Congress leaders are targeting his family members and misusing official power.
Refuting the charge P Shankar Rao said that he had filed petition on his own and not on the directions of the party as Jaganmohan Reddy has amassed wealth illegally by misusing his official position.
“I am ready to hang if anybody proves that I filed petition against jagan on the directions of Congress party president Sonia Gandhi,” he challenged and demanded Jaganmohan reddy to prove his probity and come clean from corruption charges.
The CBI investigation would prove Jagan’s corruption and expose how he amassed wealth illegally by misusing his official position, he pointed out.
He also found fault in the Jaganmohan reddy’s claim of his father YSR brought Congress party into power for second time in the state and said that YSR become the Chief Minister for second time due to Sonia Gandhi’s efforts.
Asked about the reports of high command proposing Panchayat Raj K Jana Reddy’s name for chief minister post in the yet to be formed Telangana state, Shankar Rao said that he would abide by the high command’s decision and never object to it.
