Beware of HC's delaying tactics: Jeevan Reddy to T Cong leaders

Senior Congress Leader Jeevan Reddy on Tuesday cautioned his party colleagues from Telangana to be aware of the High Command delaying tactics in the name of consultation process on the separate statehood issue.

Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, the former minister alleged that the High Command has no commitment on the Telangana issue and is resorting to delaying tactics in the name of consultation process with Seemandhra and Telangana leaders.

He further alleged that the High Command, instead of concentrating on solving the separate statehood issue, was focussing its attention on lobbying with the leaders in order to buy time and persuading them to withdraw their resignations.

Mr Jeevan Reddy further asked the Telangana elected representatives to make their stand clear if they want the formation of Telangana state or posts.

“If the leaders are really committed to the fight for formation of separate Telangana state, they should stand by their resignations and submit them afresh by August 1,” the former minister opined. He also advised the serving Ministers not to attend their duties but instead press for acceptance of the resubmitted resignations with Governor ESL Narasimhan.

Mr Jeevan Reddy also asked all elected representatives from the region to make concrete efforts towards the formation of separate state.

“Otherwise the people of the region would boycott them and reject them in the next elections,” he warned.

Responding on Speaker Nadendla Manohar’s decision of rejecting the resignations, Mr Jeevan Reddy charged the Speaker of insulting the democratically elected representatives by violating their rights.
