Talking to media persons after the Steering Committee meeting at Old MLA Quarters, Prof Kodandaram said the decision about the deadline was unanimous.

Condemning the Speaker’s ‘unilateral’ decision of rejecting the resignations of Telangana leaders and attributing their decision as being taken in an emotionally surcharged atmosphere, Prof Kodandaram said that the Tpjac would extend full support to all those who submit resignations and take steps for their re-election.

The Tpjac would launch a campaign against those who failed to resign before August 1 in villages, mandal and district quarters. “They will be portrayed as traitors of Telangana,” the Professor said.

He added that the Tpjac would intensify its agitation after August 1 if the Centre fails to take any decision on Telangana.

JAC leader Srinivas Goud said Unions of employees affiliated to JAC would meet on Tuesday to discuss the future course of action and take a decision on announce of strike date.

He said the Tpjac members under the chairmanship of Prof Kodandaram would go to New Delhi on Wednesday and meet National Democratic Alliance constituents seeking their support for the employees strike and the Telangana statehood agitation.

Another JAC leader Vittal appealed to state government to give priority for Telangana people in the recruitments taken up for Andhra Pradesh Bhavan, which has only two Telanganaites out of 60 employees.

Meanwhile, following the directions of Tpjac, the 11 MLAs of Telangana Rashtra Samithi have sent their resignations afresh to Speaker chamber through fax on Monday.
