Hinting that Ysr Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy was immature when he announced a slew of schemes for the poor if his party came to power, Minister for Law and Courts Erasu Prathap Reddy on Saturday dismissed the schemes as just a publicity stunt by casting serious doubts whether they schemes could ever be implemented.

Mr Prathap Reddy told media persons at the Assembly premises that the state government is already finding it very tough to implement the schemes announced by former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

“How can Mr Jaganmohan Reddy implement these schemes which he has promised at the party’s plenary if he comes to power? The government has to work with the revenue generated. The new schemes announced by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy are just a means to attract the people’s attention and endear himself to them,” the Minister said.

Turning his attention to the Telangana ‘crisis’, Mr Prathap Reddy urged the Congress Legislators from the region, who had submitted their resignations, to cast aside their ‘one-point’ agenda and talk things out with Seemandhra leaders.

“The Telangana Legislators should become more lenient. They have only a one-point agenda. They should be less stubborn and more agreeable to thrash matters out,” the Minister said.

“We, the Seemandhra leaders, are urging the Telangana Legislators to talk the matter over with us so that they extend cooperation with the High Command’s efforts to solve the issue. Keep the decision on your resignations on hold, come for talks with us,” Mr Prathap Reddy requested the Seemandhra leaders.

“We are insisting on the state remaining integrated because we believe that it is the only way to keep it on the path of development. Members of the Samaikhya Andhra Pradesh Forum will visit New Delhi on July 13 and 14 and present our opinion, our views and our reasons before the High Command,” the Minister stated.
