Hyderabad, Sept 30 :

Minister for Health and Family Welfare Danam Nagender on Wednesday criticized senior Congress leader and member of the Rajya Sabha V Hanumantha Rao’s (VHR) statement that the deaths occurred in the state after the death of late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as ‘fake’. Talking to media, the Minister said that the statement made by a senior leader would not fit to his stature and termed it as ‘unfortunate.’  “Such statements from a party senior leader would definitely hurt the feelings of people and party image would be eroded,” he explained.

He said that the district collectors have submitted their report on the deaths occurred due to YSR’s demise and the government would take a decision on it. He challenged VHR asking him to prove whether the deaths occurred due to YSR’s loss are natural or fake. If his statement  is established  then I would quit  politics.

He asked VHR not to make such statements in media for getting cheap publicity as they would damage the image of  the party. On the continuation of people’s welfare schemes launched by the late leader, the minister made it clear that all YSR’s pet programmes would be continued and there is no doubt about it.

This year the government and people have not celebrated Dasara festival with much fanfare as the palm of gloom prevailed over the state after the death of chief minister Dr YSR. He also made it clear the late chief minister’s son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy went to Nallakalva only to pay homage. But some political leaders are politicizing this issue also, he regretted.
