The police on Tuesday arrested Telugu Desam Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao, MLAs and MLCs activists for staging a dharna at Martyrs Memorial in Gun Park demanding that the resignations they had submitted for the cause of Telangana state formation on Monday be accepted.

The TDP Telangana Forum members first paid tributes to the Martyrs who gave their lives for Telangana at the Martyrs Memorial in Gun Park opposite the Assembly and then staged a dharna. The Legislators raised ‘Jai Telangana’ slogans and demanded that the Speakers of the Lok Sabha and state Assembly accept the resignations of the Telangana leaders which were submitted on Monday.

Mr Dayakar Rao warned the Centre of dire consequences if the resignations of the Telangana leaders were not accepted and it did not announce a favourable decision on the formation of separate state.
