Defending Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi’s statement that he would ‘become Chief Minister in real life one day’Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Wednesday said that the former actor had all the necessary qualification to occupy the chair of Head of Government.
Talking to media persons after the inaugurating a bus shelter at Patancheru in Medak district, Mr Satyanarayana said that Chiranjeevi has all qualifications to become Chief Minister. “Who says that he has no qualification and efficiency to become the Chief Minister of the state?, countered the PCC chief in response to the repeated pleas to respond to the statement. Mr Satyanarayana said that he did not find anything wrong in Mr Chiranjeevi’s statement. “However, the media has blown the statement out of proportion and given it a political colour,” he stated. Mr Chiranjeevi had made the statement while inaugurating a private TV channel in the city on Tuesday. “People want to see me as their Chief Minister. I will certainly become the Chief Minister and serve the state,” he had said. Describing the Telangana issue as an `emotional one,’ Mr Satyanarayana stated that he would impress upon the High Command to take a favourable decision on the controversial statehood issue. He said that the government would continue Rs 2 a kg rice scheme for people below the poverty line. Mr Satyanarayana also said that he would make efforts for establishing a satellite RTC depot at Narsapur for the convenience of commuters.
