Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi president Manda Krishna Madiga on Thursday demanded that the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy break his silence over categorisation of Scheduled Castes in Andhra Pradesh or resign.
Talking to media persons, he said that the Chief Minister has to make his stand clear on the classification of SCs with the Centre.
“If the Chief Minister fails to make his stand clear, he should resign from his post,” demanded Mr Krishna Madiga.
Stating the classification would enable a large number of the Scheduled Castes to get their due share of reservation, he alleged the Centre’s inordinate delay in taking the decision is jeopardizing the interests of SCs.
Mr Krishna Madiga further warned the state government the his organization would further intensify the agitation for categorization of the SCs. “We will organize a massive state-level convention with employees and intellectuals at K J R Gardens in Secunderabad on July 2,” he said.
Krishna also released a poster designed to help in creating awareness about the massive state-level meeting on the occasion.
He said the association would felicitate Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha on July 16. The venue would announced later, Mr Krishna Madiga said.
